Meet the Doctor
Dr. Mona (Marci) Colianno founded About-FACE MD Medical Aesthetics with the mission of rejuvenating her patients’ natural beauty. Dr. Colianno begins by getting to know her patients and understanding their personal beauty needs and desires. She then ensures her patients are well informed and educated on any procedure before deciding to have a treatment. Dr. Colianno’s carefully curated, thorough approach provides her patients with refreshed, natural-looking results. Dr. Colianno is proud to mobilize About-FACE MD Medical Aesthetics via her “Special Beauty Unit”. The fully-equipped, luxury mobile clinic conveniently brings your medical aesthetics treatments right to your driveway.
Background
Before launching About-FACE MD Medical Aesthetics, Dr. Colianno spent 16 years in private medicine and with the U.S. Navy Medical Corps. She is board certified in the state of California, and still practices emergency medicine at Providence Little Company of Mary in Torrance, CA. Dr. Colianno has also been an attending emergency physician at Olympia Medical Center in Los Angeles, U.S. Naval Hospital Bremerton, WA and U.S. Naval Hospital Guam. Dr. Colianno completed her residency in emergency medicine at Naval Medical Center, San Diego. After residency, Dr. Colianno served in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy as the battalion surgeon for the U.S. Marine Corps with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). The 13th MEU is a forward deployed, flexible sea-based Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) capable of conducting amphibious operations, crisis response and limited contingency operations, including enabling the introduction of follow-on forces and designated special operations, in order to support the theater requirements of Geographic Combatant Commanders. The 13th MEU, SOC was deployed to Iraq for a special mission in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Dr. Colianno was the Chief Medical Officer of the forward resuscitation surgical team (FRST) in Al Taqaddum, Iraq. She also served at Naval Hospital Guam as an Emergency Medicine Physician in support of the forward deployed Naval Fleet. As you might expect, the U.S. military, especially the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps, is very close to Dr. Colianno’s heart. The term “about-face” is a military drill command to stop and reverse to face the opposite direction. “About-face” also reflects reversing the aging process via medical aesthetics.
